Finger Exercise No 2 | Piano Jump Start
Just like exercise one, when we practice with your hands separately make sure to follow the correct finger numbers rather than the letter names of the notes being played.
Start by placing your right hand on the keyboard in C position.

The first two notes to play are your thumb, finger one, followed your long finger, finger three. Then play finger number two, followed by finger four.

The last four notes start with finger number three followed by finger number five. Finish by once again playing finger number two followed by finger number four.
You’re basically playing every other finger starting on the bottom half of your hand, to the middle, to the top half, and back to the middle.

With your left hand in C position start by playing finger number five followed by finger number three. Next play finger four followed by finger two. Finger three followed by finger one. And end it by going back to finger four followed by finger two.
When we play this exercise with our hands together we want to focus on identifying the letter names of each note played, rather than just the finger numbers being used.
Place both of your hands on the keyboard in C position.

Start by playing the note C with finger number five in the left hand together with finger number one in the right hand. This is followed by the note E with finger number three in both hands.
Next play the note D with your ring finger, finger number four, in the left hand together with the index finger, finger number two, in the right hand. Follow by playing the note F with finger two in the left hand and finger four in the right.

After that play the note E with finger number three in both hands at the same time, followed by the note G - finger one in the left hand and finger five in the right. Finish the exercise by once again playing the note D in both hands and the note F in both hands.
Make sure to practice this pattern very slowly with your hands together, and say the letter name of each note out loud as you play.
